When most people think about launching a new business, they think of something with fast growth potential and the ability to scale. While those things are great to have, it doesn’t mean that you can only launch small businesses. Many successful entrepreneurs launched businesses that were very niche and didn’t have a big market opportunity.
Yanni Hufnagel is one of them. He’s an example of someone who took a risk by launching his own business in a small market segment – but still made it work for him.
In this article, we look closely at Yanni Hufnagel and his lemon water brand, Lemon Perfect.
Yanni Hufnagel and Lemon Perfect
Lemon Perfect is a small brand that he launched.
Yanni is a world traveller who spent several years travelling around the globe and living in different countries before arriving in the US.
When he got to the US, he started working for a company that sold lemons. He later realized that there was an opportunity to start his own business selling lemons, with lemon water as his main product.
With the help of his mother and sister, he started Lemon Perfect in 2013. The business sells small bags of lemon juice powder on its website for $10 each. The powder can be a flavouring agent for making lemon water or other drinks.
The brand quickly gained visibility on social media and media outlets like Forbes, Huffington Post, ABC News, and others. The company also partnered with a few charities to do good work while at the same time gaining more visibility for their brand.
Lemon Perfect has over 4 million followers on Instagram alone (and counting). And they just announced that they would expand their business into retail stores later this year.

What can you learn from Yanni’s story?
Yanni didn’t start with an idea for a big company. He started with just an idea for one product – lemon water. And from there, he built up his business step by step.
And he did it all without spending a single dollar on marketing.
Yanni didn’t start his company to get rich or famous. He started it because he wanted to do something that would make his mother proud of him. And he found a way to turn that into a business, which he built slowly over time.
This is an important lesson because it shows you that you don’t have to take the traditional route when starting your own business. As most people think, you don’t need millions of dollars and a whole team of employees to get started.
Yes, it might be great if you can start your own business with millions of dollars in funding and an army of employees behind you. But if that’s not possible, don’t let that stop you from starting your business today. You can still build something from scratch – even if you only have one product and some knowledge about how online marketing works!
So whether you want to start your own lemon water company or build another kind of online business entirely, the most important thing is this: Start now. Don’t put off starting your own business any longer than necessary!
Start today by taking action on at least one idea for a product or service that can help solve problems in your local area (or wherever else it is you want to work).
