Nick Millican: Considering Not All Renters Are Bad, When Will They Be Treated with Respect

According to real estate expert Nick Millican, many landlords think that most renters are “risks” or will cause harm, destruction, and other issues while staying in or renting one of their properties. While it’s understandable that within the housing industry the landlords will take steps to protect their investments and their personal interests, it’s time to stop treating all tenants like they intend to harm your property or investment.

Many times the protections landlords use for their own good end up hurting the tenant renting the property. Considering that the average London rental is currently well over 2,500 pounds per month it’s begging to differ how someone who sits around drinking, smoking weed all day or taking part in gang activities would even come close to affording to rent a property. This, according to Nick Millican´s own experience.

Much less keep up with the utilities and other fees that come with the upkeep of a rental property. Up to now, many renters are decent, hard-working people who struggle to even make rent payments every month to keep a roof over their family’s heads (Theorg).

Most renters simply want a fair rent deal on a clean, safe home for their family. They want a rent they can afford to pay, and not feel like they are being taken advantage of for renting a home over purchasing one. Then, maybe some renters could save some money and actually afford a home of their own one day. As Nick Millican finally states, they might be able to save money for an emergency fund or for a family vacation, while also being able to rent and enjoy their quality of life.
