Bernard Acoca was born in 1948 and grew up in a tiny town in Louisiana, USA. He worked hard as a carpenter and always loved music. By the time he was 19, he had decided to take up piece seriously and moved to New Orleans, where he formed his band. “Zaxby’s” Where You At ” is the band name that performed from 1974 until 1977. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in History and Sociology from California State University, Northridge, and a Master’s in Business Administration from Harvard Business School.
In January 2022, he joined Zaxby’s as the company’s first incoming CEO, one of America’s most popular restaurants, with franchises nationwide.
Through his vast experience and expertise in running successful businesses for nearly five decades, the Zaxby’s CEO has gained valuable insights into how a company works to make significant changes for consumers.

He served as a director of Vestaron Corp., an electronic security company based in Miami, Florida, from 2004 to 2005. He served as an advisor to Advisors Asset Management LLC and as a Lead Usher Advisory Group LLC director. He was also a director for Seabury Resources Inc. in Chicago, Illinois, from 2000 to 2006 and a former member of the board at Sterling Bancorp Inc., headquartered in New York City, where he served from 2011 until 2015.
In 2018, He was named one of Georgetown University’s Thirty Under Thirty. He gained recognition from The Huffington Post in June 2012 – when he was nearly 30. He has appeared on CNBC’s “Power Lunch” and The Wall Street Journal’s MoneyBeat segment.
