How Watford FC Was Transformed By Gino Pozzo

Gino Pozzo and his family’s ownership of Watford Football Club has inspired the world. From small beginnings when they took to the helm at Watford in 2012, the family has transformed the club from a struggling mid-table side into a team challenging for European qualifications and reached an FA Cup final in just eight years.

When Gino Pozzo and his family took control of Watford Football Club in 2012, few could predict just how successful their tenure would be. Steadily changing how the game was played on and off the pitch, Pozzo’s stewardship of The Hornets has seen them rise through English Football’s tiers in mere seasons.

With a new structure incorporating a professional attitude and new techniques, Watford under Pozzo has seen a rise since his initial takeover.

From the English Football Conference to the Premier League, Gino Pozzo’s revolution has seen numerous successes for the club, despite having to rebuild the team at every tier. Pozzo’s success in such a short time has seen his story become lauded as an inspiration for many.

Gino Pozzo was brought up in Udine, Italy. His parents, Gianpaolo and Giuliana Pozzo, were ardent football fans who introduced their children to the game. His father also ran a successful Serie B football club Udinese, and Gino grew up in football. The Pozzo family has always been devoted to the Udinese team.

Gino Pozzo relocated to the United States at 18 and graduated with a master’s degree from Harvard. He moved to Spain after his marriage to Catalan and lived in Barcelona for two decades before relocating to London with his wife and kids in 2013.

Pozzo studied the sport of soccer and learned the fundamentals of management and business. He believes that to succeed in any industry, passion is paramount. Since taking over Watford Football Club, Pozzo has dedicated himself to the game and loves learning from his mistakes and successes. Visit this page for more information.
